2004 NEWS ARCHIVE 11/16/2004 You probably found out about it from everywhere else, but we do have a show in December, on the 10th at Subterranean with The Arrivals and Gasoline Fight. An all-ages show is also in the works, you've got to believe me! In the meantime, if you're old enough to get in, this Subterranean lineup looks pretty good. The LINKS section was moderately updated, as bands roll on through history, or forget to re-up their websites. Pete Royal 08/09/2004 Our next show (9/25 @ Bottom Lounge) is so super-special, you can buy tickets in advance! Get them here. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the Clearwater Theater, a venue with a PA that could actually handle us! Now there's a concept. Thanks to Mike and everyone else who helped put it together. Pete Royal 06/21/2004 Very little news. We've received many new photos and have many new songs. Now, if there were only more hours in the day to do anything about it... We are playing a 21 and over show this Saturday in Blue Island, and hopefully an all ages show in early August, and maybe some more shows in September. Thanks to WLUW and all radio stations that keep playing the new CD. No, really. Pete Royal 05/02/2004 We have a show coming up this Saturday, and it's turned into a big production, with our good friends I Love Rich and Siderunners, out-of-towners Hudson Falcons (NJ) and Superhopper (MN), and Audakon Revival kicking everything off at 8:00 PM sharp. Plus, it's been bumped down to an "18 and over" show, so keep your fake ID's in the sock drawer, and come watch us eat shrimp and debut new songs. More to come about everything... Pete Royal 03/28/2004 It's only been about 5 weeks, but we already have a new record out! Well, sort of. The split seven-inch on Jettison Music with Shattered Angel is finally in our hands. Despite the quirks that come with a delayed record (e.g. the other band has already broken up!), the record contains our very last recordings with 21st Century Mascara Snake, the artwork (also done by her and Joe "B.B.E." Chavez) is fantastic, and includes an eyebrow-raising Devo cover, all on your choice of blue or black vinyl. I don't know where the record will distributed (something Jettison will probably handle), but it will certainly be available at all of our shows, starting with the one at Lyon's Den on April 9th (hint, hint), until they are gone. An instant collectors item! The Mexican Cheerleader online store is still coming. Please excuse me for having a life. Pete Royal 02/22/2004 Again, thanks to everyone who made it out to the release show last night. I actually enjoyed all of the bands, which doesn't happen so often! We are not doing any shows until April. During this time, we will hammer out a deal to hopefully get "Kings And Kings' Hoots" on vinyl. Also coming soon: Mexican Cheerleader's very own online store for you out-of-towners and introverts, and an update to the PHOTOS section. Pete Royal 01/10/2004 Belated thanks to everyone who started off the new year with us in Elgin. Our CD release show has been confirmed for Saturday, February 21st, at Fireside Bowl. If for some reason you're too lazy to see us for free in Madison in two weeks, that show is what's next.
