2002 NEWS ARCHIVE 08/29/2002 We are going to have a new release out before the end of the year. This time, it's a split 7-inch with the band Shattered Angel, made possible by Jettison Music. We have one original and one cover on the split, just recorded this month at Mark Sampson's place (Cadence Studios). Maybe if I'm in a good mood, I will post samples of the song here. The ten people with the highest number of correct responses will receive the new disc. The whole thing ends August 1st, so don't procrastinate. Pete Royal 6/12/2002 This Friday, June 14th, marks the return of me (Pete) to the airwaves of WLUW's Government Music. Tune into 88.7 on your FM dial from 11:00 PM until 2:00 AM, as I cover current events with Justin Government, spin records (that everyone else seems to dislike) from my personal collection, and promote our June 22nd show. Maybe we'll give away some items, too. Call in during the show at 773-508-WLUW (9589) with comments and requests. Pete Royal 5/2/2002 Belated thanks to everyone who came out to the release show on Saturday. If you didn't get the new CD in your greedy mitts, you will soon be able to order it online from Redline Distribution or Interpunk. It will be also be available at all shows, once we start booking a few more. In the meantime, Thick Records has invited us to be on the next Magnetic Curses compilation, so I think we'll go work on some new songs for that, and possibly a new EP. Have fun, Pete Royal 3/26/2002 Get a preview of the new record cover in the DISCOGRAPHY section. The CD will now simply be called "Mexican Cheerleader", though I'm hoping "Gentle Bendejo" ends up as a title for something eventually. Another show was added on April 7th at Prodigal Son. We're still shooting for April 27th as the CD release show at Fireside Bowl, but the threat is always there that we might have to push it back a bit. The photos to update the PHOTOS section were lost in a horrific accident, and won't be recovered until after the beginning of April. Photos are really quite a waste of time, actually, when a majority of you can make it to the shows fairly easily and see everything in the flesh. For the rest of you, accept my apologies. Pete Royal 1/17/2002 The DOWNLOADS section is christened with four (4) MP3's from our new recording. Also, on February 17th, we will be part of an interview/discussion on WXAV radio (88.3 FM), live from the south side. More unheard tracks from the new record will be debuted, hopefully mixed with picks from our personal record collections and plenty of war stories. Coming soon: The birth of the PHOTOS section.
